The Science Tech 150A, Fitness - Sports Assessment and Exercise Counselling is a computer software application developed by exercise physiologists, strength and conditioning specialists, athletic trainers that can assess fitness level and generate exercise programs for effective training for the fitness enthusiast or the athlete in almost all sports.

With over 350 videos Science Tech 150A, Fitness - Sports Assessment and Exercise Counselling provides the information needed and programs are being introduced based on training history, ratings, fitness, speed, strength, endurance, age, training frequency and training progress.

BASIC SOFTWARE FUNCTIONS

A. FITNESS ASSESSMENT FOR EXERCISE PARTICIPANTS AND ATHLETES

Special features include:

  • Assessment of the appropriate tests for the assessment of a particular fitness parameter (for example, strength).

  • Determination of the parameters defining fitness (Endurance, Strength, Speed, Flexibility, Body composition), which will be evaluated according to the needs of the relevant age group and gender (for example, over-aged males).

  • Suggestion of the performance parameters defining fitness (Endurance, Strength, Speed, Flexibility, Body composition), which are evaluated according to the needs of the relevant sport (for example, basketball) selected out of a wide range of 46 different sports.

  • Analysis and evaluation of the assessment data according to norms associated with a particular age group and gender (for example, reference values for pubescent and post-pubescent 15-19 years old boys).

  • Conclusive graphic presentation of the assessment results providing evidence for training priorities.



B. EXERCISE COUNSELLING FOR EXERCISE PARTICIPANTS

Special features include:

  • Theoretical support of the user with Libraries providing useful information before commencing an assessment (e.g. medical examination report, physical activity readiness questionnaire, informative instructions for each assessment, informed consent form for subjects).

  • Exercise prescription for each fitness parameter based on the assessment outcome or/and according preference of the user regarding time, type, frequency, intensity etc.



C. EXERCISE COUNSELLING FOR ATHLETES

  • Exercise prescription for each fitness parameter based on the assessment outcome or/and according preference of the user regarding periodised training programmes (for example single, double, triple periodisation).

  • Exercise prescription for each fitness parameter and its training sub-divisions (for example, endurance contains short-term endurance).

  • Complete user control on training volume and intensity to be applied on each fitness parameter during each training season.

  • Exercise prescription according to the special characteristics of a team sport (for example, selection of a longer competition phase).

  • The alternative to fit in personal technique/tactics drills within the training programme.

  • Theoretical support for the user with Libraries providing useful information on a range of exercise performance topics such as strength development systems, special considerations on exercise prescription for children, agonists and antagonists strength ratios, tests reference values, performance prediction based on VO2 max values, plyometric and running drills, determination of ideals stride length and rate.

  • The alternative of adjusting and modifying exercise prescription according to the user needs (for example, selection of tests, exercise drills and mode of exercise).
